CESA Professional Learning Workshop: Youth Ministry in the Classroom

2018 is the Year of Youth in Australia and it is a time to reflect on the role of youth ministry in schools and classrooms. Peter Bierer, Coordinator of the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults will provide insights and practical strategies for engaging young people in faith using the Australian Catholic Bishop’s youth ministry document, Anointed and Sent, and the results of the 2017 Raise Your Voice listening forums with young people.

Deadline for the Youth Cross Design Contest

A contest to develop a Cross for the Young People of the Archdiocese of Adelaide for use in youth celebrations, liturgies, prayer and other gathering with young people.

The Youth Cross will be representative of the diversity of young people in the archdiocese. After designs have been selected from the submissions, the young people will work with a local artist to create the Cross in time for World Youth Day.

RE Professional Learning Workshop: Leading Young People in Discernment for Vocation

2018 is the Year of Youth in Australia and discernment for vocation is one of the essential themes for the year.  Peter Bierer, Coordinator of the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults will provide contemporary insights and practical strategies for for accompanying young people through a process of vocational discernment. We will use the broad definition of vocation as “the place where one’s deep gladness meets the world’s deep need,” and we will explore St. Paul’s theology of the Body of Christ, as well as the Preparatory Document for the 2018 Synod of Bishops that will focus on Youth, Faith, and Discernment for Vocation.
