The annual celebration of Catholic Senior School students who exemplify Catholic values, identity and mission in the Archdiocese of Adelaide.
2018 is the Year of Youth in Australia and discernment for vocation is one of the essential themes for the year. Peter Bierer, Coordinator of the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults will provide contemporary insights and practical strategies for for accompanying young people through a process of vocational discernment. We will use the broad definition of vocation as “the place where one’s deep gladness meets the world’s deep need,” and we will explore St. Paul’s theology of the Body of Christ, as well as the Preparatory Document for the 2018 Synod of Bishops that will focus on Youth, Faith, and Discernment for Vocation.
The Year of Youth is a chance for young people to reflect on their own lives, faith and vocation.
Young people 18 -35 are invited to "Rejoice & Be Glad" a day of reflection and community building based on Pope Francis' latest apostolic exhortation on everyday Christianity and its connection to their own experience.
The day will be led by Peter Bierer, Coordinator of the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults, and include personal reflection and opportunities to connect with other young adults from the Archdiocese of Adelaide. Meals provided, Mass will be included in the day.
A contest to develop a Cross for the Young People of the Archdiocese of Adelaide for use in youth celebrations, liturgies, prayer and other gathering with young people.
The Youth Cross will be representative of the diversity of young people in the archdiocese. After designs have been selected from the submissions, the young people will work with a local artist to create the Cross in time for World Youth Day.
