Welcome to the website for the Catholic Office for Youth & Young Adults.

The Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adults is a ministry of the Archdiocese of Adelaide, working within Catholic Education Office, South Australia. It works in partnership-affirming, encouraging, challenging and supporting young people and those who accompany them on their faith journeys.

A focus of the work of the Catholic Office for Youth and Young Adult during 2008 is preparation for the Archdiocese to welcome international pilgrims to Adelaide for the Days in the Diocese program. This four day event is titled "Adelaide celebrates World Youth Day". Eleven ‘Local Coordinating Groups’ will be preparing dynamic programs for their international guests. There will also be three centrally organised events. They are: ‘Cathedral Café’, ‘Pilgrim Peace Park’, and the ‘Mission Ignition’ concert at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

There are many Adelaide Groups registered to go to World Youth Day, and the office is working closely with Group Leaders in the preparation of pilgrims attending World Youth Day.

The Office also provides pastoral planning leadership in response to how the fruits of World Youth Day will enrich and contribute to the shaping of Diocesan Youth Ministry into the future.
